My favorite Sunday of the year so far....

...because that mean this party is over. That sounds negative, doesn't it? It's just that this particular calling has been way outside my comfort zone. If it weren't for these people you would find me in the corner curled up in a ball. They are amazing, dependable, supportive, positive and FUN!

This is Kelly saying, "Where do I put these? Carrying around balloons always make me feel like a retard." ???
Lisa never sasses me. She just does anything she's asked. Cheerfully.
Even Steve got crafty. He is the gold at the end of that rainbow.
The calm before the storm.
The storm.
Piper Bob was entertaining. And loud. He wished he could have been the whole show.

Party Princess.
The Achievement Day girls provided fun activities for the kids.
We debated about ice cream. I think it was a hit.
Face painting was also a hit.

Have you ever noticed how Celtic music and Irish dancing makes you want to clap your hands, tap your foot and dance a jig?

I am lucky because....I can't begin to count.

Lady Killer

I told him he really should slow down with the ladies. But man, these two girls are smitten. I can't say I blame them. His birthday was just an excuse to write him love notes and cuddle with him all night.

Jodi, when can Sophie come over again?

You'd never guess it, but Sophie's mom has a house-cleaning business. The apple doesn't fall from the tree now, does it? Either that or Sophie thought my house needed some serious attention. Why can't I think this is fun?!

"I'm your slave girl, huh?"

Lucky Us!

Have you ever noticed how March has a tendency to drag on? It's not really Spring- as much as you dress like it is, hope like it is-it is still...well..just March. Maybe that's why I was so looking forward to meeting at Andi's last week for Family Night Group. Desperately in need of the comfort and inspiration of good women, I was literally counting down the days. Here's why...

Nobody can do a "tablescape" like Andi. Really..How does she come up with this stuff? I just read how the key to Anthropologies inviting store ambiance is that they engage all of the senses. That night I think I had senses engaged that I didn't even know I had.

Andi just sent her 3rd son on a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This tree honorably displays their missionary name tags.

Dinner was heavenly. Andi duplicated a salad she loves from the Nordstrom Cafe. Only hers was better.

All of these women are such an inspiration to me. Among other things, I went home with St. Patrick's day treat ideas, a reminder that our attitude is everything, a CD and thoughts on uplifting music, a visual reminder to "hold fast to the rod of iron," thoughts on being better prepared for temple worship, and recipes..

A sweet ending... March all of a sudden doesn't seem quite so long. Instead of feeling impatient and unsettled, all I feel now is lucky. Very, very lucky.

San Diego part 2

We left the cold and snow in Utah for a weekend getaway of....cold and rain in California. Not to worry. We found ways to entertain ourselves. The guys were supposed to be on a golf course but they found solace in the game room at the hotel.
Jordan and Mark prepare to enter the DDR phenomenon!

Mark seemed pretty pleased with himself considering what it says on the screen. (I don't think he had very high expectations)
No..Kelly's not competitive at all. She just had her teeth grit in every picture of her playing air hockey against Jordan.

When Mark's ball didn't end up where Mark thought it should, they immediately suspected a crooked stick. Funny how it always seems to be the crooked stick.

Rebecca sat across from her husband at dinner on a rainy night in San Diego.
The day we were to leave we woke to beautiful sun.
Beautiful sun made the girls feel like going for a quick walk on the beach. However, when girls get talking they seem to forget how far they've walked and then by the time the fatigue and sore joints hits, you realize you now have to walk all the way back. It ended up being not such a quick walk.
This is Rebecca and Kelly post walk on the beach. Post breakfast at a cute little cafe and post me getting my land legs back.
These little figures were dotted throughout the hotel property. They seem quite life-like and this one caused me a little concern as I saw him laying there in the rain. Kelly is sharing his reading material.
Mark and Kel...
